Qutb Minar is also spelled as Qutub Minar situated in Mahrauli area Delhi India. The tower was built by Muslim ruler Qutub-Din-Aibak in 1193. The tower was built as a victory symbol to celebrate Muslim dominance after defeat’s last Hindu ruler. The Qutub Minar hight is 73 meters. The tower reduces, and has a 14.3 meters (47 feet) base diameter, reducing to 2.7 meters (9 feet) at the top of the peak. It contains a winding staircase of 379 steps.

The construction of Qutub Minar started by Qutub-Ud-din Aibak, completed by Iltutmish.The last stories completed by Firoj Shah Tuglak.It is also listed under UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Delhi, a status given to it in 1993 for its historical significance and architectural brilliance.

Activities and the best time to visit :

This historical tower is the most attractive tourist destination in Delhi. After entering this place you will experience the historic arts and infrastructure. You must explore here, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Ala’i Darwaza, a domed gateway to the mosque from the south side, Tomb of Iltutmish Iron Pillar of Chandragupta II, which can’t or never rusts. You can visit here any season. The timing of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

The sound and music show timing is 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

For adults 30rs per person. 

For foreign tourists 500rs.

How to reach :

You need to take  Metro towards Qutub Minar Metro station to reach this place. It is 1.6km from the monuments.
